06:56 AM EDT, 07/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis ( STLA ) is recalling about 24,000 Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid minivans globally due to fire risks, multiple media outlets reported Friday, citing Stellantis ( STLA ).

The recall, which affects 2017 to 2021 model year Chrysler Pacifica Hybrids, includes about 19,500 vehicles in the United States, 3,000 in Canada, and 1,700 outside North America.

Stellantis ( STLA ) said it is aware of seven incidents when the vehicles were turned off, some occurring during recharging. Additionally, four customers reported symptoms consistent with smoke inhalation.

Stellantis ( STLA ) has warned owners of the affected vehicles to park outside, away from structures and not to charge the cars.
