06:41 AM EDT, 06/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Talen Energy ( TLN ) said Wednesday that it has agreed to provide carbon-free nuclear power from its Susquehanna power plant in Pennsylvania to Amazon's ( AMZN ) cloud-computing unit Amazon Web Services' data centers in the region.

Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed.

The agreement states that Talen will supply 1.92 gigawatts of carbon-free electricity to Amazon ( AMZN ) for AI and cloud technologies at its Susquehanna data center until 2042, with the option to extend the deal and deliver power to other Pennsylvania sites, Talen said.

Talen said it and Amazon ( AMZN ) will also look into building new small modular reactors and increasing Susquehanna's output.

Talen shares were up nearly 4% in recent premarket activity.
