Tesla Tops Norway Auto Sales in August as Sales of EVs Hit 97% Share

07:59 AM EDT, 09/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) accounted for more than 20% of new car sales in Norway in August, with electric cars as a whole accounting for 97% of new passenger vehicle registrations, according to data from Norwegian Road Federation.

Tesla's Model Y was the top selling model, while its Model 3 was third among cars sold in Norway during August, the federation said Monday.

Almost 14,000 new passenger cars were registered in Norway in August, and fewer than five hundred were different variants of gasoline and diesel cars, the federation said.

In Sweden, registrations of new Tesla cars fell 84% in August from a year earlier, to 210 vehicles, Reuters reported Monday, citing data from Mobility Sweden.
