06:57 AM EST, 12/31/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) has started a trial production at its megafactory in Shanghai, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday, citing Tesla China.

The carmaker told China's state-owned news agency Xinhua that the facility, which is producing Megapack energy-storage batteries, is expected to achieve full mass production in Q1.

Tesla didn't immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
