Sep 23, 2024 1:01 AM

02:19 PM EDT, 09/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- T-Mobile US ( TMUS ) is expecting 12 million 5G broadband customers nationwide by 2028, Chief Executive Mike Sievert said Wednesday, according to a Capital IQ transcript.

"Our new goal for 5G broadband is 12 million customers nationwide, and we will achieve that by 2028," Sievert said at the company's Capital Markets Day event. He said the company now has 5.6 million home broadband customers on 5G and is on track to achieving its 7 million to 8 million goal by 2025.

Sievert also said the company's business will grow more rapidly than over the past few years, with service revenue CAGR growing to closer to 5% between last year and 2027 from about 4% over the past few years.

"That's going to result in an annualized EBITDA, in 2027, about $10 billion higher than last year, at the high end of our guidance, $38 billion to $39 billion relative to $29 billion last year," he said.
