T-Mobile US, Verizon Dodge Patent Lawsuit as VoIP-Pal Focuses on Antitrust Strategy
Oct 17, 2024 2:39 PM

08:59 AM EDT, 10/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- T-Mobile (TMUS) and Verizon (VZ) dodged patent litigation after VoIP-Pal said Monday that it has voluntarily withdrawn its complaints against the two telecommunications companies to explore an antitrust legal strategy.

The cases alleged infringement of two of VoIP-Pal's US patents, with the complaint against T-Mobile also alleging infringement of one of VoIP-Pal's continuation patents.

VoIP-Pal said it is preparing an antitrust case relating to "the issue of bundling cellular and texting services" to address alleged anticompetitive practices surrounding their wi-fi calling technology.
