12:18 PM EDT, 07/03/2024 (MT Newswires) -- VivoPower International ( VVPR ) shares soared 64% amid heavy trading Wednesday after the company said its electric vehicle subsidiary agreed to a one-month extension to finalize a business combination with Cactus Acquisition Corporation I.
Intraday trading volume catapulted to over 50.4 million after midday in a shortened trading session Wednesday from a daily average of about 339,000. The US equity market will close early at 1 pm ET.
DouYu International Holdings ( DOYU ) rose past 43% after it declared a special dividend of $9.76 per American depositary share, payable on Aug. 30 to shareholders on record as of Aug. 21.
More than 4.7 million shares traded intraday compared with a daily average of about 106,000.
D-MARKET Electronic Services & Trading (HEPS), a Turkish e-commerce platform, said it launched a cargo distribution service in select regions of Turkey with 21 electric vans.
The electric vans commenced delivery in densely populated major cities, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Mugla, and Antalya.
Shares surged 12% as intraday trading volume climbed to more than 1.7 million versus the stock's daily average of about 443,000.
