Toyota Tundra Pickups, Lexus SUVs Recalled Over Engine Debris
Jun 4, 2024 5:08 AM

07:44 AM EDT, 06/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Toyota ( TM ) has agreed to recall more than 100,000 SUVs and pickup trucks in the US over potential engine troubles, Reuters cited the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration as saying Tuesday

The recall includes Toyota Tundra pickup trucks and Lexus LX600 SUVs equipped with V35A six-cylinder engines that can stall because debris from the manufacturing process can cause them to fail and lose power, Reuters cited the NHTSA as saying.

Toyota ( TM ) said in a release last week that it was recalling about 102,000 Toyota Tundra and Lexus vehicles over the possibility that "certain machining debris may not have been cleared from the engine when it was produced," which can lead to "potential engine knocking, engine rough running, engine no start and/or a loss of motive power" that at high speeds "can increase the risk of a crash."

Toyota ( TM ) said it is "developing the remedy for this issue."
