07:38 PM EDT, 06/05/2026 (MT Newswires) -- President Donald Trump told farmers they would see "very good things" over the next 90 days as he sought to reassure an agricultural sector facing higher fuel and fertilizer costs tied to the conflict with Iran, Bloomberg reported Friday.
Speaking at a farm in Wisconsin on Friday, Trump said his administration was "looking at something to take the place of what's happened" regarding recent increases in oil and fertilizer prices, which he described as artificial, but he did not provide specifics.
The remarks come as the closure of the Strait of Hormuz has disrupted shipments of crude oil and fertilizer, increasing costs for U.S. farmers.
Bloomberg said Trump's Wisconsin visit was aimed at shoring up support among Midwest farmers, a key political constituency, as concerns about the economy and the Iran conflict weigh on his approval ratings.
