Trump Raises Tariffs on Steel, Aluminum Imports
Feb 11, 2025 1:46 AM

04:17 AM EST, 02/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to raise tariffs on steel and aluminum imports to 25% to support industries in the country, the White House said Monday.

"It's 25% without exceptions or exemptions and that's all countries, no matter where it comes from," Yahoo Finance reported the US president as saying.

The proclamations were extensions of Trump's 2018 Section 232 tariffs to protect domestic steel and aluminum makers on national security grounds.
