08:50 AM EDT, 10/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- United Airlines (UAL) said Tuesday that Flight 2940 from Newark to Houston on Wednesday will be its first mainline flight equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi, offering internet access on both personal devices and inflight entertainment screens.
The airline said it plans to install Starlink on up to 15 mainline Boeing 737-800 aircraft each month, with two antennas per plane.
More than half of United's regional fleet already uses Starlink, the company said, adding that it expects another aircraft type to be certified to offer Starlink by year-end.
Starlink Wi-Fi will be free for MileagePlus members, and passengers will be notified in advance if their flight offers the service, according to United.
