09:44 AM EDT, 09/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Uniti Group's ( UNIT ) Kinetic unit said Wednesday that it has received preliminary approval for federal Broadband Equity Access and Deployment, or BEAD, program grants in four US states, totaling about $156.6 million.

The company said the grants were provisionally awarded by the states of Georgia, Arkansas, New Mexico, and North Carolina. The award from Georgia was the largest, amounting to $147.3 million.

According to Kinetic, the grants will enable multi-gigabit fiber connections to about 52,000 rural homes and businesses, including nearly 50,000 in Georgia, and are subject to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration's final approval.
