Upbound's Acima Leasing Says Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Lawsuit Dropped
Mar 7, 2025 2:15 AM

04:54 AM EST, 03/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Upbound Group's ( UPBD ) Acima Leasing said late Thursday the US Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has dismissed a lawsuit against Acima without imposing penalties or requiring business alterations.

The company said the CFPB's decision comes after a prolonged investigation that began before it was acquired by Upbound in 2021.

As part of the resolution, Acima agreed to withdraw a separate lawsuit that challenged the CFPB's authority to pursue the case, it said.
