Alphabet's (GOOG) Waymo issued a voluntary software recall of its vehicles after a driverless car operated by the company collided with a telephone pole, a spokesperson confirmed to MT Newswires Wednesday.
The collision happened in Phoenix, Arizona, last month while the car was attempting to pick up a passenger and there were no passengers or injuries associated with the event, the company said.
The robotaxi company said it filed a voluntary software recall with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration involving 672 vehicles, according to the regulator's website.
The recall covered certain 5th generation automated driving systems with software versions prior to May 29 and map software prior to June 4, the agency said, adding all affected vehicles were repaired by June 6.
"We have already deployed mapping and software updates across our entire fleet, and this does not impact our current operations," a Waymo spokesperson said in an email.
