Update: Amazon to Begin Union Contract Talks With Unifor for British Columbia Facility
Oct 24, 2025 9:22 AM

11:43 AM EDT, 10/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with Amazon's ( AMZN ) response in the fourth paragraph.)

Amazon ( AMZN ) is set to begin talks with Unifor over a collective agreement at a facility located in Delta, British Columbia, the union said Thursday.

The union said earlier this month that its members at the YVR2 facility chose a bargaining team to negotiate with the retailer, but that the company "continues to wage a misinformation war against its own employees on the shop floor."

In September, YVR2 workers completed a survey to highlight workplace issues. They named heavy workloads, speed-ups, and favoritism as top concerns. Using this feedback, the bargaining team is preparing proposals for talks with Amazon ( AMZN ), Unifor said.

"The B.C. Labour Relations Board's decision is wrong on the facts and the law, and it deprived our employees of their right to have their voices heard," Amazon ( AMZN ) told MT Newswires. The company added that it looks forward to addressing this through the legal process.
