Amazon.com ( AMZN ) said Friday that it is making an additional $4 billion investment in Anthropic and that the artificial intelligence company has named Amazon Web Services its primary training partner.

Anthropic will use Amazon Web Services' Trainium and Inferentia chips for training and deploying its future foundation models, the e-commerce giant said.

Amazon ( AMZN ) also said that Anthropic and AWS have partnered to provide the latter's clients early access to do "fine-tuning" with their own data on Anthropic models.
