Update: AT&T Acquires Select Spectrum Assets from United States Cellular for $1.02 Billion
Nov 7, 2024 4:01 PM

08:59 AM EST, 11/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Update with AT&T's ( T ) response to a request for comment.)

United States Cellular ( USM ) said Thursday it has entered into an agreement with AT&T ( T ) to sell a portion of its retained spectrum licenses for $1.02 billion.

Substantially all of the deal is contingent upon the closing of United States Cellular's ( USM ) sale of its wireless operations and select spectrum assets to T-Mobile (TMUS), United States Cellular ( USM ) said.

"This supports AT&T's ( T ) commitment to provide customers with a reliable, best-in-class experience as data usage continues to increase," an AT&T ( T ) spokesperson told MT Newswires via email. "The anticipated future deployment of this wireless spectrum will increase AT&T's ( T ) 5G wireless network capacity in more than 100 markets across virtually every region of the country."
