02:44 PM EDT, 03/19/2026 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with company statement in fourth and fifth paragraphs.)
AT&T ( T ) workers under the Mobility Orange collective bargaining agreement with labor union Communication Workers of America have "overwhelmingly" voted to authorize a strike, the union said Thursday.
The vote allows union president Claude Cummings to call a strike if AT&T ( T ) and the union fail to reach an agreement, according to a statement.
The union's contract with the company, which covers about 9,000 workers, is set to expire March 20, the statement said.
In an emailed statement to MT Newswires, AT&T ( T ) said it plans to publish a bargaining update on Friday when the contract ends.
"We value our union-represented employees and are committed to reaching a fair agreement with the CWA that recognizes our employees' role in delivering outstanding customer service and supporting the AT&T Guarantee, while staying competitive in the markets we serve," a company spokesperson said.
