Update: Banco Santander in Talks to Sell 49% Stake in Santander Bank Polska to Erste Group

Banco Santander (SAN) and Erste Group Bank are in discussions for the latter to potentially acquire a 49% stake in Banco Santander's Santander Bank Polska, an Erste spokesperson confirmed to MT Newswires in an email Monday.

There is "no certainty" that the talks will lead to a final deal, the spokesperson said.

Banco Santander said in a regulatory filing Monday that it received interest from "several parties" regarding a potential deal for the Santander Bank Polska unit, and that it is currently in discussions with Erste Group for the potential sale of a 49% stake in Santander Polska.
