Update: Carlyle Group Shares Rise After Q2 Earnings Beat

The Carlyle Group ( CG ) shares were up nearly 4% in recent Wednesday trading after posting better-than-expected Q2 earnings results.

The company reported Q2 after-tax distributable earnings Wednesday of $0.91 per share, up from $0.78 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected $0.89.

Total revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $1.57 billion, compared with $1.07 billion a year earlier.

Segment revenue rose to $984 million from $788.9 million a year earlier. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected $904.7 million.

The private equity firm maintained its quarterly dividend at $0.35 per share, payable Aug. 28 to shareholders of record on Aug. 18.
