05:45 PM EDT, 09/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with CSX's response in the second paragraph.)

CSX (CSX), Canadian National Railway ( CNI ) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City ( CP ) are being urged by the Biden administration to guarantee paid sick leave for all railroaders, pointing out that 10,000 workers still lack this benefit, the US Department of Transportation said Wednesday.

Two unions have yet to accept the same paid sick leave agreements that other unions have agreed upon, despite multiple offers from CSX, the company's Chief Executive Joe Hinrichs said in an emailed statement to MT Newswires.

Canadian National Railway ( CNI ) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City ( CP ) did not respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
