Update: Ford Recalling About 1.4 Million Vehicles in US Over Back Camera Issue
Oct 22, 2025 6:46 AM

09:26 AM EDT, 10/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with Ford's confirmation in the first four paragraphs.)

Ford Motor ( F ) said Wednesday it is recalling about 1.4 million vehicles in the US due to a back camera issue that fails to properly display an image and may increase the risk of an accident.

The automaker said it is recalling certain 2015-2019 Flex, 2015 Explorer, 2015 and 2019 Lincoln MKT, 2015 Lincoln MKZ, 2015-2016 C-Max, 2015-2016 Escape, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019 Taurus, 2016 Fusion, 2019 Fiesta, and 2020 Mustang models.

The company said it is also providing a new 15-year backview camera extended warranty for other rearview camera-equipped vehicles which are not included in the recall to offer "extra reassurance" to clients.

The recall has no "material impact" on the company's financials, a Ford spokesperson told MT Newswires in an email.

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a Tuesday letter that dealers will examine and replace the rearview camera without any charges.
