G2 Goldfields ( GUYGF ) on Tuesday reported a significant gold discovery several miles north of the company's existing OKO gold project in Guyana.
Assays include 24 meters grading 2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including 9.3 meters grading 2.8 g/t gold.
The company noted the discovery lies within properties in the portfolio of its proposed spinoff company G3 Goldfields.
"This is a brand-new discovery from 'first principles' and we look forward to additional exploration success from our team, partners, and portfolio of properties," said Patrick Sheridan, G2's executive chairman.
G2 shares were last seen up $0.09 to $3.39 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
