Update: Hasbro 'Exploring Options' for New Headquarters, Company Says
Oct 17, 2024 1:55 PM

03:45 PM EDT, 10/16/2024 (MT Newswires) -- (Adds company response, more detail throughout)

Hasbro ( HAS ) is "exploring options" for its new headquarters, the company told MT Newswires on Wednesday in response to a report the toymaker is considering a move to Boston from its current home in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

In a statement, Hasbro ( HAS ) spokeswoman Roberta Thompson said the company was taking its time choosing a new location and was "evaluating all options that can best support" its operations.

Hasbro ( HAS ) will provide updates on its progress, Thompson said, although she declined to directly address a Boston Globe report Wednesday, citing multiple people briefed on the matter, that the company has narrowed its search to six locations, all in or near the city.

Hasbro ( HAS ) executives have been looking at various locations with around 250,000 square of space and have also been consulting with state and city officials on a potential move, the people said, with real estate industry sources saying the company has narrowed its search to around six locations.

In a Sept. 16 memo, Hasbro ( HAS ) CEO Chris Cocks said any move would not happen for at least 18 months and a spokesperson told the newspaper the company was not close to signing a lease.
