Honda Motor ( HMC ) will procure batteries for its hybrid vehicles from Toyota Motor's ( TM ) US plant in response to President Donald Trump's tariff announcements, Nikkei reported Monday.

"We are constantly evaluating our competitiveness and making decisions to support our North American operations, helping to ensure our promise of long-term employment stability," a Toyota ( TM ) spokesperson told MT Newswires. "We do not comment on single transactions and have nothing to announce at this time."

Honda ( HMC ) did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
