Newmont ( NEM ) shares fell 6.2% in recent Tuesday trading, a day after the company said Karyn Ovelmen resigned as chief financial officer.

The resignation on Friday by Ovelmen, 62, was not due to any disagreement with the company on any matter relating to operations, financial statements, or accounting policies, practices or disclosures, Newmont ( NEM ) said Monday in a regulatory filing.

Peter Wexler, chief legal officer, will serve as interim CFO until a permanent successor is selected. Wexler, 57, will continue as chief legal officer.
