Update: NextEra Energy Partners Shares Plunge After Swinging to Q3 Loss

NextEra Energy Partners ( NEP ) shares fell more than 15% in recent Wednesday trading after the company reported a loss in Q3.

Earlier, the company reported Q3 loss of $0.43 per diluted unit, compared with earnings of $0.57 a year earlier.

Four analysts polled by Capital IQ expected earnings of $0.56.

Operating revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $319 million, up from $308 million a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $341.2 million.

The company's board declared a quarterly distribution of $0.9175 per common unit, payable on Nov. 14 to unitholders of record Nov. 6.
