SoundHound AI's ( SOUN ) shares rose 12% in recent trading on Tuesday after Rekor Systems ( REKR ) said it will combine its vehicle recognition software with the company's voice and conversational artificial intelligence to enhance emergency vehicle technology.

Rekor ( REKR ) said its collaboration with SoundHound will deliver hands-free functionality for automatic license plate recognition and other critical vehicle systems to improve safety, situational awareness, and operational efficiency for law enforcers and first responders.

The collaboration's initial focus will be on police vehicles, with plans to expand the audio-visual AI technology to fire trucks, ambulances, and other emergency vehicles, Rekor ( REKR ) said.
