Update: Tencent Music Q4 Non-IFRS Earnings, Revenue Rise; $1 Billion Share Buyback Launched

Tencent Music Entertainment ( TME ) reported Q4 non-IFRS earnings Tuesday of 1.47 Chinese renminbi ($0.20) per diluted American depositary share, up from 1 renminbi a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected 1.25 renminbi.

Revenue for the quarter ended Dec. 31 was 7.46 billion renminbi, up from 6.89 billion renminbi a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected 7.3 billion renminbi.

The Chinese online music streaming platform also said it is launching a 24-month share buyback program for up to $1 billion worth of the company's stock beginning March.

Tencent Music shares were up 2.9% in recent premarket activity.
