US Defense Stocks Rise After Trump's Comments on Ukraine War
Sep 24, 2025 9:11 AM

11:41 AM EDT, 09/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- RTX (RTX) and other defense stocks were rising in recent Wednesday trading after US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine could reclaim all of its territory currently occupied by Russia.

"After getting to know and fully understand the Ukraine/Russia military and economic situation and, after seeing the economic trouble it is causing Russia, I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and win all of Ukraine back in its original form," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

He further said that with continued financial and military backing from Europe and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, or NATO, restoring Ukraine's pre-war borders is possible. "We will continue to supply weapons to NATO for NATO to do what they want with them," he added.

RTX shares were up 1.2%, Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) rose 0.7%, and Northrop Grumman ( NOC ) added 1.9%.
