US Judge Delays YPF Stake Turnover Deadline to July 17
Jul 14, 2025 10:08 AM

12:41 PM EDT, 07/14/2025 (MT Newswires) -- A US judge temporarily blocked on Monday an order that would require Argentina to hand over its 51% stake in YPF (YPF) to help pay a $16.1 billion court judgment.

The ruling, issued by Judge Loretta Preska in New York, said "the current stay is extended until July 17, for the limited purpose of giving the parties additional time to seek relief from the Court of Appeals."

In a June 30 order, Preska said that Argentina must move its class D shares of YPF to a custody account at the Bank of New York Mellon ( BK ) in New York within 14 days from the date of the order.

YPF did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
