WASHINGTON, Dec 20 (Reuters) - The U.S. State Department
has approved the potential sale of more than $5 billion worth of
arms for Egypt, the Pentagon announced on Friday.
Abrams tank refurbishment, support and equipment account for
the majority of the new arms announced with an estimated cost of
$4.69 billion. The contractor is General Dynamics Land Systems
.
The Pentagon said other possible sales include Hellfire
missiles for $630 million and Advanced Precision Kill Weapon
System for $30 million.
