07:15 PM EDT, 06/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The US Treasury Department on Thursday added Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and several senior Cuban officials and entities to its blacklist.
Those sanctioned include Diaz-Canel, Cuban Armed Forces Minister Alejandro Castro Espin, Raul Alejandro Castro Calis, Manuel Anido Cuesta and Lis Cuesta Peraza, according to the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
Treasury also designated several Cuban entities, including the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, Amistur Cuba and mining company Minera La Victoria.
OFAC also updated its sanctions list to reflect the new designations.
