Velo3D, RTX Collaborate on US Army's Additive Manufacturing Program; Shares Rise

09:55 AM EDT, 08/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Velo3D ( VELO ) said Monday it is collaborating with RTX (RTX) and the Raytheon Technologies Research Center on a US Army program to develop advanced additive manufacturing processes for defense applications.

The initiative, funded through the Army's Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center and Manufacturing & Sustainment program, is focused on creating an optimized laser powder bed fusion process for Aluminum CP1, which supports the US Army's Integrated Air and Missile Defense modernization priorities, the company said.

The initiative also seeks to replace traditional point-qualification methods with a new installation and operational qualification framework, laying the groundwork for a distributed manufacturing model across the Defense Department and its supplier base, Velo3D ( VELO ) said.

Shares of Velo3D ( VELO ) were up more than 8% in recent Monday trading.
