07:49 AM EDT, 06/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Verde AgriTech ( VNPKF ) on Tuesday said its potassium multi-nutrient specialty fertilizer, K Forte, has a significantly lower carbon footprint than traditional potassium chloride (KCl) fertilizer.
Verde, citing data from the RenovaCalc calculation tool developed by the Brazilian government, said using K Forte will significantly reduce emissions created during the production of sugarcane and corn ethanol in Brazil.
"The potential annual avoidance of CO2 emissions is equivalent to taking approximately 65,000 cars off the road for an entire year, or the amount of CO2 absorbed by approximately 5 million tree seedlings grown over ten years," said Verde Chief Executive Cristiano Veloso.
Brazil has 3.3 million hectares of sugarcane and 1.1 million hectares of corn dedicated to the production of biofuels.
