02:59 PM EDT, 07/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Viad ( VVI ) said Monday that a wildfire that entered the Jasper National Park in Alberta, Canada, did not reach its lodging properties in the northeastern section of the Jasper townsite.

The company said it already evacuated employees and guests when fire entered the southwestern end of the Jasper townsite and that no critical infrastructure was damaged by the fire.

Viad ( VVI ) said Jasper National Park remains closed as crews work on securing the fire's perimeter and surrounding areas.

The company added that it was working with its insurance carriers to determine the extent of damage and potential recoveries from policies in place.

Viad ( VVI ) shares were down 1.3% in recent trading.
