Vision Marine Technologies Files Patent Application for Proprietary Battery Encryption; Shares Soar Premarket
Jan 15, 2025 2:52 AM

05:29 AM EST, 01/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Vision Marine Technologies ( VMAR ) shares rose more than 47% in premarket activity Wednesday after the company disclosed overnight it filed a patent application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its battery authentication encryption technology.

The technology employs a battery management controller to authenticate components within the E-Motion Electric Powertrain, helping eliminate "risks associated with third-party substitutions that could compromise performance or safety," the company said late Tuesday.

Additionally, the technology enables the collection and analysis of boaters' data, which, the company said, is a critical component in driving superior system performance.
