Singapore Airlines and Tata Group joint venture Vistara is ready to fly international routes from October, Financial Express reported.
The airline's international flight will be from New Delhi to Colombo in Sri Lanka and from New Delhi to Phuket in Thailand, the report said citing unidentified sources.
An airline is required to have 20 aircraft for domestic operations to be eligible to fly international, according to the new policy. The airline received its 20th aircraft in April and currently has a 22-aircraft fleet.
Vistara wanted to fly to Dubai, however, the quota under the India-Dubai bilateral is full, sources told the paper. At present, only Air India and Sri Lankan Airlines operate in the New Delhi-Colombo route.
