Vodafone's Italy Unit Cleared by Italian Regulators for Acquisition by Swiscom

04:23 AM EST, 12/23/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Swisscom said late Friday that the Italian Competition Authority and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy have cleared its proposed acquisition of Vodafone Group's ( VOD ) Vodafone Italia.

The approval by the competition regulator includes a three-year commitment to provide wholesale services to Italian operators in line with Swisscom subsidiary Fastweb's current practices, the company said.

The ministry's approval was unconditional, the company said.

Swisscom said it expects the transaction to close by Q1.
