05:39 PM EDT, 06/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The Walt Disney Company ( DIS ) has agreed to pay an additional $438.7 million to close its purchase of NBC Universal's 33% interest in Hulu, following the conclusion of a third-party appraisal process.

The additional amount, combined with the $27.5 billion guaranteed floor value, brings Hulu's total valuation in line with the appraisal, the company said in a regulatory filing.

"We are pleased this is finally resolved," Robert Iger, Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney Company ( DIS ), said, referring to the end of the appraisal process that included a possibility that Disney ( DIS ) could end up paying an additional $5 billion to NBC to acquire the same stake.

Disney ( DIS ) said the additional amount payable is expected to be excluded from adjusted earnings per share and, therefore, is unlikely to impact previous guidance for fiscal 2025.

The acquisition of NBCU's interest in Hulu will close on or before July 24.
