06:03 PM EDT, 03/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Walt Disney ( DIS ) said Debra OConnell will assume the new role of chairman, Disney Entertainment Television, as part of a leadership restructuring within the Disney Entertainment division under Dana Walden, chief creative officer.
OConnell will oversee the television brands, including ABC Entertainment, Disney Branded Television, Hulu Originals, National Geographic Content and creative for 20th Television and 20th Television Animation, Walt Disney ( DIS ) said Monday in a statement. She will also continue to oversee ABC News and the ABC owned television stations.
Alan Bergman will maintain his position as chairman of Disney Entertainment Studios.
Joe Earley and Adam Smith will become co-presidents of Direct to Consumer, sharing responsibility for strategy and financial performance across Disney+ and Hulu, reporting to Walden and Bergman.
Sean Shoptaw, executive vice president, games and digital entertainment, and his organization will join Disney Entertainment, reporting to Walden.
Walden will report directly to Disney ( DIS ) CEO Josh D'Amaro, effective Wednesday.
