WeRide's Robotaxi Secures Autonomous Driving Permit in Saudi Arabia

07:37 AM EDT, 07/28/2025 (MT Newswires) -- WeRide ( WRD ) said Monday that its Robotaxi received Saudi Arabia's first autonomous driving permit, allowing the company to operate an autonomous vehicle business and deploy its Robotaxis in the country.

The company said pilot operations began earlier this month in Riyadh with Uber Technologies ( UBER ) and local partner Ai Driver, with a full-scale commercial launch targeted by year-end through a partnership with Uber ( UBER ).

WeRide ( WRD ) said it now has autonomous driving permits in six countries, including Saudi Arabia.

Shares of WeRide ( WRD ) were up more than 5% in recent premarket activity Monday.
