The sweets industry in Kolkata has been badly hit due to the coronavirus pandemic. All through the lockdown, many sweet shops in Kolkata saw a 70 percent decline in footfalls.

However shop keepers were hoping for a pickup in demand during the festive season. Many sweet shops have taken the online route for better sales.
