07:52 AM EDT, 06/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Yum! Brands ( YUM ) said Tuesday it has named Chris Turner as chief executive officer, effective Oct. 1.

Turner, currently chief financial and franchise officer, succeeds David Gibbs, who informed the board of his decision to retire after 37 years with the company in March. Gibbs will remain CEO until Sept. 30 and serve as an adviser until the end of 2026, the company said.

Turner has been Yum's finance chief since 2019 and expanded his role to include chief franchise officer last year, the company.
