August S&P Global US Flash Manufacturing, Services Measures Both Indicate Expansion
Aug 21, 2025 7:09 AM

09:55 AM EDT, 08/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The August flash reading of manufacturing conditions from S&P Global rose to a 39-month high reading of 53.3 from 49.8 in July, compared with an expected reading of 49.7 in a survey compiled by Bloomberg as of 7:50 am ET.

The index indicates a return to expansion in the sector which is in line with the New York Fed reading but in contrast with the Philadelphia Fed reading that indicated contraction.

The index for services conditions fell slightly to a two-month low reading of 55.4 in August from 55.7 in July, compared with expectations for a larger drop to 54.2. The services index also indicates expansion, which is in contrast with the New York Fed reading that suggested faster contraction.
