According to Michigan, consumers' assessment of current conditions and the near-term outlook were both below their August levels.
Michigan said that inflation expectations held steady for the one-year horizon and rose for the five-year horizon, with both elevated.
The Q3 GDPnow estimate from the St. Louis Fed is for a 0.17% gain, revised down from a 0.57% gain reported last week.
