02:41 PM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The Richmond Fed's services reading fell to 1 in September from 4 in August, the Philadelphia Federal Reserve's services reading rose to minus 12.3 from minus 17.5, and the flash services reading from S&P Global fell to 53.9 from 54.5, suggesting slower expansion.
The ISM's services reading is scheduled for release on Oct. 3.
The Richmond Fed's manufacturing index fell to minus 17 in September from minus 7 in August, and the flash manufacturing reading from S&P Global fell to 52.0 in September from 53.0 in August, indicating a slower pace of expansion, after regional data from the New York and Philadelphia Federal Reserve banks were mixed.
The ISM's national manufacturing reading will be released on Oct. 1.
Redbook reported that US same-store retail sales were up 5.7% year-over-year in the week ended Sept. 20, slower than a 6.3% gain in the prior week as back-to-school sales slowed.
The current account gap narrowed significantly to $251.31 billion in Q2 from $439.82 billion in the previous quarter due to a much smaller goods and services gap.
