Nov 7, 2023 4:44 AM

Several areas in Bengaluru grappled with traffic disruptions due to waterlogged roads after heavy rain lashed the city on Monday. Heavy rains on Monday evening caused extensive waterlogging on roads leading to traffic snarl in many areas.

Many commuters were stranded on roads and traffic came to a standstill in Shantinagar, Malleswaram, Mysore Bank, and Town Hall, among others due to flooded roads and submerged underpasses after torrential rain.

Karnataka Traffic Police shared a video showing the slow-moving traffic and waterlogged streets, on the social media platform X.

The Bengaluru Traffic Police issued an advisory listing the roads severely affected due to flooding, urging commuters to cooperate and to use alternate routes.

The traffic advisory issued by the Bengaluru Traffic Police outlined the areas severely affected by waterlogging. The commuters were asked to avoid Kasturinagar on OR Road, MMT Junction towards KR Puram Railway station, Vidya Shilpa underpass service road, Kalyananagara 80 feet road (near Kalyan Nagar under bridge) and Veeranyapalya Down Ramp road (Hennur traffic police station limits), among other routes, due to traffic disruptions and waterlogging.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a typically cloudy sky with isolated rain or thundershowers till November 8 in Bengaluru.
