12:55 PM EDT, 05/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:
We raise our 12-month target from $78 to $85, or roughly 11x our 2025 EPS estimate of $7.69 (down from $7.80; 2026 EPS raised to $8.85 from $8.70), versus the 12x long-term average. Our estimates do not reflect the pending Viterra merger, which BG expects to close soon, despite reports that China is delaying approval amid U.S.-China trade tensions. Q1 results were better than feared, though BG appears to have benefited from a pull-forward in activity as farmers and consumers sought to get ahead of tariffs. We expect Q2 results to be sequentially weaker, particularly in BG's largest segment, Agribusiness. Still, there is some optimism in South America, driven by a record crop, improved selling out of Argentina, and the region's potential to benefit from U.S.-China trade friction. Further clarity on U.S. biofuel policy could provide upside to crush margins later this year and into 2026. BG did not repurchase shares in Q1, as it will likely wait until the Viterra acquisition to complete another $1B buyback
