10:55 AM EDT, 09/24/2025 (MT Newswires) -- CFRA, an independent research provider, has provided MT Newswires with the following research alert. Analysts at CFRA have summarized their opinion as follows:
We raise our 12-month target to $212 from $167, on a P/E of 17x our CY 2027 view of $12.48 (based on current forex), which is still below its long-term historical average. BABA offered several AI-related announcements. CEO Eddie Wu now expects spending on AI models/infrastructure to eclipse its previously stated CNY380B ($53B) target over three years, as AI usage has been considerably higher than original expectations. BABA also unveiled the latest version of its Qwen large language models, the Qwen3-Max, as well as a new strategic partnership with NVDA that integrates the company's Physical AI software development tools into Alibaba Cloud. Also, BABA announced new cloud infrastructure expansion plans outside of China where it will launch its first data centers this year (Brazil, France, and the Netherlands) and next (Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Dubai). We applaud BABA's ongoing AI spend; while it could constrain FCF, we think it will help further accelerate cloud and total revenue growth.
